Hans Wilhelmowich Münzenmaier (German) was born in Stuttgart (Germany) on the 22 October 1921. From 1927 until 1937 he lived with his parents in Leningrad. In November 1937, after the arrest of his father, he and his mother were deported to the town of Osh (Kirgisia). In July 1941 he was arrested and, based on section 58-10, 2 of the RSFSR criminal code, sentenced to a ten years’ detention to be served in a reform labour camp, and the deprivationof all political rights for a period of five years after his release. He was taken to the Norillag by a prisoner transport; as from 1948 he was kept in the 5th camp sub-sector of the Gorlag. Took part in amateur talent activities.
He was entirely rehabilitated in August 1955, due to a directive of the Supreme Court of the Kirgisian SSR.
After his release in 1951 he worked for the Norilsk House of Culture of Engineers and Technicians (DITR) as a cinema operator; after 1956 he took part in the staging of opera and operetta performances. As from 1959 till 1976 he was working for the Norilsk TV studio – as a cameraman, producer and chief producer. In 1976 he went on pension and removed to Shushenskoe, where he was working for the House of Culture as a producer until 1991.
He died on the 27 March 1992.
