A monument for the victims

In the settlement of Yermakovo, district of Turukhansk, they came to the decision to set up a monument in commemoration of the victims of political reprisals. According to the words of Maria Mishechkina, director of the Permafrost Museum in Igarka, the monument might be erected this very year. The decision was made on the occasion of a meeting of representatives of the museum with the head of the Turukhansk district, Simona Yurchenko and her deputees. The question of how to safely preserve the two locomotives of the “OV” (“Little Sheep”; translator’s note) series was discussed, as well. The participants of the meeting agreed about the necessity to work out a special program for the protection of the locomotives. This includes the setting up of one of them in Novosibirsk, while the other one is going to be kept in Norilsk.
