The first secretary of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Committee of the KPRF, Vladislav
Yurchik, excoriated the demolishing of Stalin’s statue in the settlement of
Kureika, region of Turuchansk. This is what he announced today on the occasion
of a meeting with journalist.
According to his words the Communist Party was in no way linked to the erection
of the monument. It was rather the private matter of some local businessman, who
hoped to attract tourists into the district by implementing this action.
„But no matter which motives he let himself be guided by – we do support his
initiative. And the demolishing of Stalin’s statue can only be considered as an
act of vandalism. Something like this will not happen elsewhere, except in
Russia“, - Yurchik said.
