On the occasion of the forthcoming Victory Day the people of Krasnoyarsk will
have the opportunity to congratulate Josef Stalin. The regional Communists came
forward with the proposal to post bills with the portrait of the “generalissimo”
all over the Krasnoyarsk trerritory. According to the opinion of the initiator
of this project, the deputee of the Legislative Assembly, Piotr Medvedev, it is
an absolute must to say “thank you” to Stalin -
because of the victory over the Fascists, because of his guiding the country,
because of many more things. Even because of the cult of celebrity around him –
in principle. And the opponent of the idea, the chairman of the Krasnoyarsk
“Memorial” organization of historical illumination clearly expressed that Stalin
bills must not be posted – under no circumstances, this would lead to a
disruption of society. He backs the position to show true victors on such bills
– the Soviet, nowadays the Russian people. The soldiers and working population
of the back-country. The chairman of the “Memorial” organization calls the idea
about Stalin bills nothing but an immense provocation.
