Early in September 1941 the Communists deported the Volga-German family ABIG from the village of GRIMM, canton KAMENSK, Autonomous Republic of the Volga-Germans:
They were forced to UVEK station, loaded on a freight train and taken away to the KRASNOYARSK region.
At NIZHNY INGASH station (district town) the deportees had to get off the train. Hermann Mikhailovich ABIG, his wife and children were exiled to the village of PAVLOVKA (20 km South of Nizhny Ingash), a kolkhoz (= collective farm).
In January 1942 the Soviets forced Hermann Mikhailovich ABIG into the "Trud-Army" (= Labour Army). He was taken to SOLIKAMSK (probably to the Kraslag first). After his release from the "Trud-Army" he was exiled to the MOLOTOV (PERM) region. After having been released from this exile he stayed to live there and did not return to his family.
Anna Friedrichovna ABIG and her children remained in exile in PAVLOVKA. They were set free in January 1956.
Hermann Michailovich ABIG, Anna Friedrichovna ABIG and Anna Hermannovna ABIG received their rehabilitation from the Information Center of the UVD (= Administration of Internal Affairs) of the Saratov region on 25.03.2000.
