In mid-September 1941 the Communists deported from HOLZGRABACH, Village Soviet (council) of GRUENTHAL, canton of UNTERWALDEN, in the Autonomous Republic of the Volga-Germans, the Volga-German family REMPE (kolkhoz farmers, who all came from this village in Unterwalden):
On 17.09.41 they were forced to join the military transport N 851 (freight car train transporting prisoners) and were taken into exile to Akmolinsk (Akmola), Obviously, however, they were not permitted to stay there, so that the train continued its way further to the East, to Siberia.
The REMPE family disembarked in UYAR, then was taken into exile to the little village of PANOVKA in the district of UYAR. Soon after, they were moved to OLGINO, a village about 10 km north of UYAR.
During their banishment the family name was mistakenly registered "Rembe".
Along with them David Davidovich LANGOLF (born in 1927) also was exiled to OLGINO; he had been deported from the village of KIND, canton of UNTERWALDEN.
In 1942 F. REMPE was called up into the "Trud-Army", but he was lucky: he was not forced to fell trees, but came to KRASNOYARSK, to the Krasnoyarsk machine-building factory. After a certain time he was released from the "Trud-Army" for reasons of bad health. He returned to his family in OLGINO.
His daughter died from pneumonia during the exile in OLGINO, and later he also lost his life in exile (in OLGONO, as well).
I. (A.) REMPE and R. (F.) REMPE were set free beginning of 1956. At the same time they also released D. LANGOLF from exile. He stayed in Olgino and still lives there today.
F. REMPE and his wife were rehabilitated on 09.03.99 by the Information Center of the UVD (Main Administration of Internal Affairs) in the SARATOVSK region.
