Exile/Camp Report given by Viktoria Sharoglasova (daughter of Jakob)

On 03.09.41 the Soviets deported the German family BRAUN from BLUMENFELD, canton GMELINKA, Autonomous Republic of the Volga-Germans:

They were taken away by military transport No. 822, unloaded in KRASNOYARSK (at SLOBINO station) and immediately sent down the river Yenissey to the district of YARTSEVO. They were exiled to a village called SERGEYEVO - the Village Soviet in charge of this rural area was located in NOVONASIMOV (today Yenissey district) - on the left bank of the river Yenissey. There the exiles either worked on the kolkhoz (collective) farm or had to work in the fishery.

Early in 1942 J. BRAUN and his three elder sons were forced into the "Trud-Army", to TAGILLAT in the URAL. E. BRAUN received permission to go and live with her husband.

They were all freed from exile early in 1956.

J. BRAUN and A.-E. BRAUN were rehabilitated by the Information Center of the Administration of Internal Affairs (Volgograd region) on 27.01.98.

Apr. 26, 1998, recorded by V.S. Birger, Krasnoyarsk, "Memorial" Society
