Pavlova Ella Samuilovna

Statement of a victim of repressions

28 August 1932
Volgograd Region,
Saratov,
Palasovsk District, Village of Strassburg

Father: Samuil Andreevich Maier – head of the kolkhoz farm
Mother: Emilia Karlovna Maier – head of the kindergarten
Brother: Robert Samuilovich Maier
Sisters: Irma Samuilovna Maier, Frieda Samuilovna Maier – lost their lives
Berta Samuilovna Maier – left for Germany on her own free will.

Repressed for reasons of their German nationality.
Bolshoi-Balchug, Tatarskaia, Sukhobuzimskoe.

Had to cope with bad living conditions; suffered from pangs of hunger.

I would have liked to become a singer on big stages (and now I sing just for fun).

On some occasion I met a nice fellow. He was a soldier and very good at playing the balalaika. I began to meet him regularly. However, my father learned about our appointments and fetched me back home. The next day my Liosha came for me (this is what my sister later reported to me; she was present that day and aware of my very first love), but it was too late.

The above material was provided by the  Sukhobuzimo Museum of Local Lore.
